Driven by a desire to reconnect with the natural world, this design transforms a residential backyard into a private conservation area. Utilizing the Miyawaki planting technique, I integrated a dense miniature forest, a winding wooden boardwalk, and a dry creek bed to create a secluded, restorative retreat.

By selecting exclusively native Carolinian species, the project restores a local ecosystem that prioritizes biodiversity. This design serves both people and the planet, providing a vital sanctuary for local pollinators and wildlife while offering the homeowners a cozy, immersive escape
